Red Bordeaux - 1948

Overall quality of the vintage: fairly good, but rather thin wines.

Champagne - 1948

While the year as a whole was not particularly memorable, it will have left a very happy memory for those lucky enough to have tasted  the Mesnil-sur-Oger blanc de  blanc.

Loire - 1948

Very good Chinon, not acidic and very fine. The white Anjous lack a little structure, but they are fresh and expressive.

Alsace - 1948

Healthy grapes in abundance, and of good quality, to winegrowers' delight: "Very good wines, although a little more acidic than in previous years". A summer heat that lasted until after the harvest, producing wines even better than those of previous years.
