Meteorological data: a cold winter and a spring, but a long, hot summer.

Harvest status:

Abundance: poor.

Quality: high.

Overall quality of the vintage: very good. Still very rich wines.

White Bordeaux - 1926

Overall quality of the vintage: very good. Bottles are now scarce.

Syrupy Bordeaux - 1926

Overall quality of the vintage: very good, but the wines have now dried out.

Champagne - 1926

Overall quality of the vintage: very good. A magnificent year, celebrated by almost all the Champagne houses. The list of those deciding not to produce a vintage champagne is very short: Moët et Chandon, Dom Pérignon, Philipponnat and Salon.

Red Rhone Valley - 1926

A good year.

Alsace White - 1926

A Catch-22 situation. The wines are good but scarce, so producers want to sell them at high prices to make up for previous years, but high prices discourage buyers, and winegrowers have the greatest difficulty in balancing their financial situation. Some observers note, however, that this is one of the best vintages of this quarter century.
