Sauternes is the largest and most prestigious of the sweet wine appellations. It has more than 17 crus classés that have earned the appellation its reputation and prestige over the centuries. These wines are shaped to withstand the passage of time, improving with the years. Often with a hint of Botrytis (noble rot), the wines have a very distinctive roasted taste.
