SAINTE CROIX DU MONT

On the right bank of the Garonne, Sainte-Croix-du-Mont produces great sweet dessert wines. As with Sauternes, noble rot (Botrytis) on the grapes often gives the wine a distinctive roasted note. Much smaller in size than Sauternes, the appellation takes its character from the more rugged nature of its terrain.
