Lying on the right bank of the Rhône, the terroir is famous for its white wines From its steep slopes terraced vineyards, the neighbouring Côte-Rôtie can almost be made out. And like its neighbour, the appellation almost disappeared in the 1950s before enjoying a resurgence in the 1970s. Unfortunately, the Viognier is a very capricious variety and yields are often low, making this smooth, generous wine a rare and precious commodity.
