BARSAC

Barsac is an appellation dedicated to sweet wines. It is the second most prestigious appellation after the neighbouring Sauternes, with which it has much in common, including its specifications. From a yield of just 25 hectolitres per hectare, much lower than the other sweet wine AOCs, the winegrowers produce much more concentrated wines. Barsac wines tend to be a little less sweet and a little fruitier than those of Sauternes.
