Overall quality of the vintage: good. The season was perfect for the vine, a small early drought, a fine, hot summer and a north wind to stave off cryptogrammic diseases. The harvest is very healthy and abundant , with perfect ripening on the Côte de Beaune as well as on the Côte de Nuit. 2005 is a great vintage: the whites have a very good sugar-acidity balance and an exceptional length. The reds have substance and a lovely grain, wines that will stand the test of time.
