BORDEAUX

Bordeaux is a regional appellation. Together with the Bordeaux Supérieur, these two appellations alone account for half of all the wines produced in the Bordeaux region. To be eligible for AOC status, Bordeaux wines must meet strict specifications, a requirement that has done much to improve the quality of the lesser wines. As with the Bordeaux Supérieur, there are many hidden gems to be discovered within this appellation.
