LUSSAC-SAINT-EMILION

 Lussac, Saint-Georges, Montagne and Puisseguin all have the right to attach the prized name of Saint-Emilion to their names. Made mainly from the Merlot grape, the appellation offers highly drinkable wines, to be enjoyed while young (from the north, in the centre of the appellation), and robust wines, ideal for ageing, from the south. The difference in the wines is all to do with the wide differences of soil and topography (alternating hills and valleys).
