Syrupy Bordeaux - 1925

Harvest status: Dates: from September 27th.

Overall quality of the vintage: quite good wines originally, unpredictable today.

Champagne - 1925

The verdict is unanimous. Impossible to find any trace of this vintage, so anxious were winegrowers to delete it from their records. It is not so much the intrinsic quality of the wine that is in question, as its incredibly high acidity.

Red Rhone Valley - 1925

Undoubtedly, the first half of this decade, with the exception of the superb 1921, was marked by disappointment, as 1925 reproduced the failure of 1922. This is a vintage best forgotten.

Alsace White - 1925

Discouraging. Faced with such a conspiracy of bad weather and diseases, Emile Hugel in Riquewihr reported "a very poor harvest". In Eguisheim, René Beyer notes that "the hail of 19 July virtually destroyed the entire harvest". Everywhere, the press is reporting that "overall, the harvest will be poor throughout Alsace, the worst since the province returned to being French again".
