Stretching over 1,683 hectares, Crozes-Hermitage is the largest northern appellation, covering 11 municipalities on the left bank of the Rhone and straddles the famous 45th parallel. Like Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage is subject to both continental and Mediterranean influences. The reds reflect the purity of Syrah, delicious, tender and fruity, perfect in their youth. The whites from Marsanne and Roussane have body: rather on the fat side, they give off a beautiful floral bouquet. Well worth keeping, they develop well over the years.
