Red Burgundy - 2008
Meteorological data: Rainy April. Late flowering.
Harvest status: Date: end of September.
Quality: well-ripened grapes.
Overall quality of the vintage: mediocre to average. The Côte de Nuits wines are better and less variable than those of the Côte de Beaune.
White Burgundy - 2008
Overall quality of the vintage: Very good. A special nod for some of the Chablis, which will be among the best whites of the decade.
2008 was not an exceptionally sunny year and once again it was only in September that the berries reached full maturity. After a mixed year and major attacks by diseases, the harvest is completed, with considerable sorting. The harvest is not lavish. The whites are full and fresh, the reds complex and tender, a very good vintage.
